Liverpool Bay carbon capture project moves into construction

The HyNet carbon storage project received its go-ahead, with a new CO2 pipeline crossing Cheshire into Flintshire and more than 2,000 delivery jobs reported.

The Liverpool Bay carbon capture and storage project was reported to be moving into construction after the UK deal was finalised. A new CO2 pipeline runs from Ince and Stanlow through Cheshire into Flintshire, connecting near Flint to a repurposed pipeline between Connah's Quay and Point of Ayr at Talacre.

Why it matters for contractors

Over 2,000 jobs were reported in delivery. The route passes close to Flint, Connah's Quay and Talacre, so Deeside and Flintshire bases are well placed for crews on this scheme.
